“SOLI”is the third cement tile derivative product of NANCHOW, which is our designer’s continuous attempts on the reuse of defective tiles with the concept of “RETILE”.

The design and development of “RETILE” series product is an important project for NANCHOW in this period, which is the exploration on the production of cement tile, environment and design. Even though cement tile is a kind of low energy-consumption green product, there are inevitable defective tiles and waste in the process of production due to the handcraft and material factors. We hope these tiles and waste can be turned into materials for reuse and transferred into good and beautiful products by our designers, in order to achieve maximum recycling of waste.

“SOLI”is designed based on the simple shape of bookend with basic elements. One finishing point is added to actualize the function of storage by one bookend individually rather than two. Designer choose one disk embedded cement tile as the point, and the disk can be rotated to alter effective space for books flexibly, which make“SOLI”more interesting, colourful and enjoyable.

“SOLI” can be placed at the bedside, desk or anywhere and removed anytime, which make reading more accessible.
